If I put this Kodak's colour negative surveilance film into my camera (Sankyo supertronic or whatever s8 camera...) , Does the camera know that the film is ASA 200?

Yes, it does. There's a little hole in the film, that has a certain depth. In your camera, there a meganism that 'reports' the depth to the camera. All modern camera's have this meganism.

    Excuse me, David,
there are many many S8-cameras around, which ONLY sense either 40 ASA or 160 ASA. In this case, I suppose that the material will be exposed as it was a 160 ASA stock.
To be shure how the film is exposured, it?s better to use a camera with manual film speed setting.
